Currently the chair of the Sierra Club of western Canada. She is also one of Canada's leading environmentalists, trying to save British Colombia's ancient forests and wildlife from destructive clearcut logging practices.
Ms. Husband is also looking toward bringing new legislation to protect the province's environment and more specifically its biological diversity. This year Ms. Husband was instrumental in getting the Khutzeymateen grizzly bear sanctuary protected.
She often speaks publicly to educate different groups and to promote international recognition of the problem.
