Keith Frederick Corbett
For over 20 years Mr. Corbett has championed the cause of reptile and amphibian conservation. In 1967 he funded a project investigating the status, ecology, and conservation needs of lacerta agilis and two associated herpitiles. His findings were instrumental in initiating the UK wildlife legislation in 1975 that protected the three species. He has also founded the Conservation Committee of the British Herpetological Society, the Association of Croydon Conservation Societies and initiated habitat management and re-introduction projects into regional and national conservation strategies.
